Fantaisie in A Major, FWV 35 Sonata No. 1 in D minor, Op. 42 |
The French organ school will unite with the premiere of a composition by Slovak author Lukáš Borzík, whose work is imbued with a profound sense of spirituality. César Franck was inspired throughout his life by the Parisian organ at the The Basilica of Saint Clotilde. Its colorful registers formed the foundation of Franck’s musical compositions. The dotted rhythms of the Introduction of Alexander Guilmant’s sonata allude to the times of French Baroque opera overtures. Slovak organist Marek Vrábel has been the director of the Church Conservatory in Bratislava since 2019.
